Code of Conduct
Dunstanburgh Castle Golf Course is committed to providing an environment that is free of discrimination, harassment and intimidation for Members, Employees and Visitors so the following code of conduct has been developed. This Code of Conduct is not intended to create offence but rather to create a happy, healthy environment for all to enjoy.
All Members and Visitors are reminded that an acceptable standard of behaviour must be always maintained, both on the Course and within the Clubhouse building.
Unacceptable behaviour towards a member of staff will not be tolerated, and disciplinary procedures will be considered in all cases.
Members are reminded that golf is only permitted to players that have booked a tee time.
Using social media in connection to Dunstanburgh, do so in a manner which could not be deemed offensive.
Members, guests, and visitors are reminded that:
Whilst in the Clubhouse
Be respectful towards others. Any form of discrimination, harassment or intimidation is regarded as unacceptable behaviour. Whilst we acknowledge that adult ‘conversations’ contributes to creating a healthy atmosphere, foul or abusive language is deemed offensive. Any member seen behaving in this manner will be asked either to stop or to leave the premises.
Free Wi-Fi is available, please be considerate when using your mobile phone. We ask that private calls are to be take outside and devices used on silent so as not to cause distraction or annoyance to fellow members or visitors
All golfers are to sign in with a member of staff on arrival. When using your wallet, you will be asked to present your membership card, members are to only use their own wallet and must be present. A £3 charge will occur
Whilst on the course
Be punctual onto the tee, a tee time must be booked to ensure play otherwise you may be asked to leave the course as this can delay play and incur costs towards the business.
Avoid slow play and try to maintain the speed of play by keeping up with the group in front
Adhere to the dress code, R&A, and local rules of the course
Demonstrate fair play both on and off the course
Rights of way exist on the course, please take extra care when taking shots. Always follow established golf etiquette by respecting the course and others, such as: Repairing pitch marks, replacing divots & raking bunkers.
Always show the necessary respect to fellow golfers.
Ø No shouting on the course
Ø No misuse of equipment (i.e. throwing / slamming clubs in frustration etc.)
Ø No aggressive behaviour, always conduct yourself in a sportsmanlike manner and do not knowingly cheat, disrespect employees, officials, or fellow players.
Mobile phones must be switched to silent on the golf course.
Complaints and Protests:
Complaints may be made by any person including a competitor, member, visiting guests, other associated golf club members, and members of the public.
Complaints must be made in the first instance to the Dunstanburgh Castle Golf Course - General Manager within 3 working days of the matter occurring. These must be then followed up in writing in an acceptable timeframe. If further action is required, the matter will be dealt with in accordance with the Business Disciplinary Procedure.
This Code of Conduct is applicable to all Members of the Golf Course, Guests, and Visitors.
